2nd Place | BEA Racial Justice and Social Change PSA Competition
Creating my PSA, "Justice for All?" was a powerful experience for me. I was compelled to use my skills in video production to raise awareness about the Anti-Asian hate crimes that were happening during the COVID-19 pandemic. I wanted to juxtapose iconic American symbols, like the flag and national anthem, with the violence Asian Americans were facing and call on people to support the anti-hate movement. Using kids in the voiceover supported the idea that these American ideals have been taught to us since our youth. This project was not only technically challenging, but also emotionally charged, and it pushed me to use my platform to create a message that could bring about positive change in the world.
This project was shot using a DSLR camera but utilized editing in news footage with Premiere Pro.
