Project Overview
The prompt for this project was to create a station ID for OUtv. I aimed to create something that would leave a lasting impression on viewers and keep them coming back. Because the project needed to be so short, I wanted to use effects that would grab the viewer’s attention immediately. After Effects was the perfect tool to make something with a lot of visual appeal in a short timeframe. My approach was to use a nostalgic theme that viewers, especially college-aged, could relate to, which is why I chose to glitch between a picture of an old-looking TV setup and a 90s-cartoonized version of the same image. The glitch and power-off effects were critical to convey the message and feeling I wanted. Overall, this project continued to sharpen my skills in After Effects, and I am proud of the end product.
